Here are some hyperlinks for web sites from which we can get real data for analysis in this course.  Please remember that data is meaningless without its context (the who, what where, when, why, and how for the data, i.e., all information pertaining to how the data was collected, by whom the data was collected, why the data was collected, etc.).  So, you must make sure that you know the context for the data as well as understand and can identify the cases/records and the variables; for quantitative variables, we must know the units (of measure) as well.

Hyperlinks for the web sites given below are provided for your convenience.  We will not limit our sources of data to these web sites.  It is recommended that you search for additional web sites.  Any interesting and useful web site provided by student(s) may be added as well.

As a member of the class, I invite you to find interesting, unusual sources of data.  If you can an interesting web site that is not related to the web sites stated above or those posted on the Other Links page of this site in any way and if this site contains interesting/educational real data, then you may submit the name of the site, the URL, and an explanation of why this site should be posted on this course page to the instructor; you  might earn extra credit.

CAUTION:  For a site to be considered for posting (and extra credit), the data on the site must be real and original, the site must be accessible directly using the submitted hyperlink, and the site cannot be connected, related, or linked to any pages of this site.

Asking questions is important. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a stupid question.
